SPORTY, ACTIVE, SOCIABLE, DIVERSE – THE SPORTS TOWN OF ALBSTADT HAS A LOT TO OFFER.
Even the very youngest can let off steam with children’s gymnastics or mini handball, while grandma and grandpa hike along the Albtrauf. If the weather is bad and you can’t prove your fearlessness and courage in the climbing park at the Waldheim, you can spend a day in the BadKap water park. While the mountain bike season is in summer, in winter many people enjoy the numerous ski lifts and trails. In terms of clothing and equipment, the ´sports town´ lives up to its name with Albstadt´s most famous sports stores such as Ski and Sport Mabitz or Intersport Rebi and the Gonso-Outlet. In terms of sports and clubs – whether just for fun or with a professional sports career in mind – you can find (almost) everything your heart desires in Albstadt. In addition to the approximately 60 sports clubs, there are various hiking clubs, signposted and award-winning premium hiking trails and MTB tracks. National and international elites, world champions and Olympic participants come together at various events, especially for cycling. These include the ASSA ABLOY Albstadt Bike Marathon, GONSO Albstadt MTB Classic and the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, as well as numerous smaller events across the heights of Albstadt. Even Bundesliga football clubs such as FC Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart came to Albstadt stadiums for friendly matches.
Even those who are no sports enthusiasts are attracted to the events, because besides the competition, fun is always in the foreground.
