2020 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz in Albstadt

UCI FLAG HOISTED

After the Mountain Bike World Championships in Canada, Thierry Marechal, President of the UCI Mountain Bike Commission, handed over the UCI flag to the Albstadt delegation with a very symbolic meaning. In view of the 31st Mountain Bike World Championships, which will take place in Albstadt from June 25 to 28, 2020, this flag was hoisted by Lord Mayor Klaus Konzelmann and First Mayor Anton Reger.

The 2020 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz will start in 283 days. Lord Mayor Klaus Konzelmann and First Mayor Anton Reger proudly hoisted the UCI flag during the workgroup meeting “Public Relations”.

The local preparation groups, which have been working since last year, are supported by the World Championships Organizations Committee, which consists of experts from the city, the district, the associations and the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The World Championships in 2020 will be a top sporting event in the Zollernalbkreis, which had also been hosted by Lenzerheide (Switzerland) in 2018 and Mont-Sainte-Anne (Canada) in 2019, attracting over 25,000 visitors on each of the main event days.

Likewise, on June 27 and 28, 2020, television will report live from Albstadt worldwide.

Now the mountain bike world will be paying full attention to the people of Albstadt. The World Championship from June 25 to 28, 2020 is a highlight and an important milestone for the athletes one season that will culminate four weeks later in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
